Caring for your solar system

Simple habits that protect your generation, and when to call a technician.

Solar systems have no moving parts, but a little care keeps them producing well for years.

What you can do

  • Check your inverter app every week or two. A sudden drop usually means something needs attention.
  • Keep trees trimmed so new branches do not shade the panels.
  • Rinse panels with plain water in the early morning or evening, only if you can reach them safely from the ground or a secure walkway. Never climb onto a wet roof.

What to leave to a technician

  • Opening the inverter, junction boxes or distribution board
  • Checking earthing and DC connections
  • Any burning smell, tripping breaker or error code

Wartens Care plans include scheduled cleaning, an inspection and a written report. We also look after systems installed by other companies.
