Ask on WhatsApp*Subsidy amounts and rules are set by the Government of India and KSEB and may change. Wartens confirms current eligibility during your site survey.
CostHow much does rooftop solar cost in Kerala?
It depends on system size, panel and inverter choice, and your roof. We give a fixed written price after a free site survey, with no hidden extras. Use our savings calculator for a first estimate.
SubsidyHow much subsidy can I get under PM Surya Ghar?
For residential on-grid systems the central subsidy is ₹30,000 for 1 kW, ₹60,000 for 2 kW and ₹78,000 for 3 kW and above. It is credited to your bank account after the net meter is installed and inspected.*
KSEB net meteringWhat is KSEB net metering?
A net meter records the power you take from KSEB and the extra solar power you send back. You are billed only for the difference. We handle the application and coordinate the inspection.
MonsoonDoes solar work during the monsoon?
Yes, but generation is lower on heavy, overcast days. Panels still produce power in diffuse light, and sunny months make up for it. We size systems on yearly generation, not a single month.
ShadingMy house has coconut palms and trees around it. Can I still have solar?
Often, yes. Our survey includes a shade analysis. We place panels where the sun reaches through the day, and can use inverter options that limit the effect of partial shade.
Roof typesCan you install on a tiled or sheet roof?
Yes. We install on concrete, Mangalore-tiled and metal-sheet roofs. Each needs a different structure and fixing method, always hot-dip galvanised or aluminium, and sealed to stop leaks.
WarrantyWhat warranty do I get?
Wartens gives a 5-year workmanship warranty. Panels and inverters carry the manufacturer’s own warranties, which we register for you. See our warranty terms.
MaintenanceHow much maintenance does a solar system need?
Very little: regular panel cleaning and a yearly check of connections, earthing and the inverter. Our Wartens Care plans cover this.
Batteries and power cutsWill solar give me power during a power cut?
Only if you have a battery. On-grid systems switch off for safety when KSEB supply fails. A hybrid system with an LFP battery, such as Wartens Home+, keeps your essentials running.
Buying from abroadI live in the Gulf. Can I arrange solar for my home in Kerala?
Yes. We do a WhatsApp video site survey, send quotes as PDFs, take payments in online milestones, and share installation photos. A family member at home can be our local contact. See solar for NRI families.
TimelineHow long does the whole process take?
Installation itself takes 1–2 days. The full process, including KSEB feasibility, net meter and subsidy, depends on KSEB and portal timelines. We keep you updated at every step.
FinanceCan I get a loan for solar?
Yes. Bank loans are available under the PM Surya Ghar scheme, and we can connect you with partner banks for EMI options. We help with the paperwork. See Subsidy & Finance.
