What Kerala homeowners ask us
Straight answers on cost, subsidy, KSEB net metering, the monsoon and power cuts.
CostHow much does rooftop solar cost in Kerala?
It depends on system size, panel and inverter choice, and your roof. We give a fixed written price after a free site survey, with no hidden extras. Use our savings calculator for a first estimate.
SubsidyHow much subsidy can I get under PM Surya Ghar?
For residential on-grid systems the central subsidy is ₹30,000 for 1 kW, ₹60,000 for 2 kW and ₹78,000 for 3 kW and above. It is credited to your bank account after the net meter is installed and inspected.*
KSEB net meteringWhat is KSEB net metering?
A net meter records the power you take from KSEB and the extra solar power you send back. You are billed only for the difference. We handle the application and coordinate the inspection.
MonsoonDoes solar work during the monsoon?
Yes, but generation is lower on heavy, overcast days. Panels still produce power in diffuse light, and sunny months make up for it. We size systems on yearly generation, not a single month.
Batteries and power cutsWill solar give me power during a power cut?
Only if you have a battery. On-grid systems switch off for safety when KSEB supply fails. A hybrid system with an LFP battery, such as Wartens Home+, keeps your essentials running.
Buying from abroadI live in the Gulf. Can I arrange solar for my home in Kerala?
Yes. We do a WhatsApp video site survey, send quotes as PDFs, take payments in online milestones, and share installation photos. A family member at home can be our local contact. See solar for NRI families.
*Subsidy amounts and rules are set by the Government of India and KSEB and may change. Wartens confirms current eligibility during your site survey.
